Nazi Raids From The Tay To Kent RUTHLESS AIR

ATTACKS MAZ

LONDON, TO-DAY,

AT LEAST 14 SHIPS, INCLUDING TWO DEFENCE- LESS LIGHTSHIPS, WERE ATTACKED BY NAZI BOMBERS YESTERDAY IN THE MOST WIDE- SPREAD SERIES OF AIR RAIDS ON BRITAIN YET ATTEMPTED.

The area covered by the raiders extended 400 miles from the mouth of the Tay, in the north, to the Kentish coast, in the south.

British and neutral shipping, and coastal areas, were the targets of the raiders. No bombs were drop- ped on shore, and though about 20 were killed on various ships attacked none of the vessels were sunk.

Shanghai International Settlement police are investigating a mysterious case of abduction which occurred on January 25.

Abducted was Mr. Ho Sih-tang. proprietor of the Yuan Feng Hard- ware store In North Shansi Road. Seven men broke into the store and forced him into a waiting motor car at the end of a pistol. The car was later found behind the New Asia Hotel, in Hongkew.-Central News.
