X-RAY EYES BOY FORETOLD DEATH

London, Dec. 12. Royal Lindsay, the sixteen-year-old boy who appeared on the stage in a | mind-reading act as "Marco, the Boy With the X-Ray Eyes," foretold his own death.

His father, Mr. Duncan Lindsay, "escapologist and stock-whip manipu- lator," said:

"We were at Worcester when Roy died. Our next booking was at Hull,

"Two days before his death, when he seemed as well and strong as ever, he said to me, 'I shall not get to Hull.' "I didn't know what he meant, but I didn't question him. He was psy- chic, you know, and he had these in- intuitions. He was always right."

Mr. Lindsay talked in his flat in Ashmill-street, N.W., and he told how he announced his son's death to the audience at the Theatre Royal, Wor- cester. He said:-

"We found him dead in the bath-

room at our lodgings two hours before the show. I just had time to wait and hear a doctor say that his death was caused by cerebral hemorrhage, and then I had to hurry to the theatre.

UNABLE TO THINK

"I stood in the wings waiting until the rest of the show was over. Then I walked on, but I couldn't think what to say.

"Automatically I started as I always did-'Ladies and Gentlemen, It is my privilege and pleasure to present Marco, the boy with the X-ray eyes.

"Then I heard myself saying: 'But unfortunately he is only here in spirit. He died this afternoon.'

"I can't remember clearly what happened after that.

Mr. Lindsay said he discovered that Roy had psychic powers when he talked in his sleep about events that happened afterwards.

"When he was fourteen he started touring with me In the mind-reading act. He

dough tled over his eyes with band- ages, and while a committee watched him on the stage he told members of the audience about themselves and read cards and letters they had in their pockets.

"There was no fake about our act I used to look at the objects and he really did read my mind. We used no codes or tricks."

That was yesterday.

He is the only bearded policeman in London.

P. C. Grimm is forty-eight. Не speaks five languages. He enrolled as a special constable in 1928 and became a full-time paid officer on the out- break of war.

He married Masha Oulpe, a beau- tiful Russian artist, at one time a pro- minent figure in Petrograd society.

During the last war P. C. Grimm was interned at Ruhleben.

To-day his two sons are in the Bri-
