ECONOMIC CONSEQUENCES OF THE WAR

THE DETERMINATION of Australia and Canada to give maximum co-operation to the British war effort was emphasised by the Australian Air Minister and Cana- dian Finance Minister, broadcasting from Ottawa.
Australian expenditure for the first year of the war will be £50,000,000 which is nearly four times the expenditure in the first year of the last war. Almost double the number of men are in training.
