The City of Flint steamed out un-- der the pilotage of a Norwegian war- ship, which took her clear of territor- ial waters.

In Washington, it is announced that the United States Minister to Norway, Mrs. Florence Harriman, reported that when the City of Flint called at Trom- soe she was flying the German flag, and sailed three hours later.

The correspondent of a Stockholm newspaper publishes an interview with ' the German consul at Tromsoe, who is reported to have said that when he boarded the City of Flint, the Ger- man prize crew and the American crew were still on board.

To get over the legal difficulty of taking on fuel and provisions at Trom- soe, the Nazi crew carried out the process while the City of Flint was moving at slow speed in Tromsoe Sound.

The refuelling

was done while the ship was actually cruising.-Reuter.

It appears that they intend to na- vigate almost entirely in Norwegian waters.

A Bergen message says a Norwe- gian warship is closely following the City of Flint to see that there is no infringement of Norwegian rights. Reuter.
