SOVIET TANKS ENTER VILNA

Kaunas (Lithuania), To-day. SOVIET TANKS ENTERED Vilna on Monday night, and Red infantry followed yesterday morning. Fighting was reported outside the town the pre- vious night.

One report says that the local administration in Vilna continues to function, and that Polish sol- diers are walking about the streets unarmed..

Telephone communication between Vilna and Kaunas has been cut.

Soviet motorised columns are quickly occupying parts of Poland not yet reached by the Germans.

Rod Army tanks and armoured cars have appeared in an area near the Polish-Rumanian frontler which proylously had been bomb- ed by Nazl planes--Reuter, SOVIET ADVANCE PERTURBS LITHUANIA

Kaunas (Lithuania), To-day. The Soviet advance into Poland is raising serious problems.

'Further classes of reserviste have been called up in Lithuania, and the eastern frontier with Po- land has been closed despite the Soviet promise to limit occupation, to White Russia and the Ukraino. The Lithuanian Ministers in Mos- cow and Berlin were received yester- day by M. Molotov (Soviet Foreign Commissar) and Joachim von Ribben- trop (Nazi Foreign Minister), respec- tively.-Reuter.

INTERNMENT IN RUMANIA

Bucharest, To-day.

Over 10,000 Polish troops who en- tered Rumania have been disarmed and interned.

Two hundred Polish planes, son e of them badly damaged, are now ir Rumania.

At least 4,500 civilian refugees, including, 400 children, have cross- ed the frontier.

Polish troops and civilians have also entered Hungary in what was form- erly Ruthenia. The troops have been disbanded and camps for all refugees. set up-Reuter.

London, To-day. Reports from Latvla state that there has been fighting between Polish and Russian troops in the Vilna region.

Ten thousand Polish cavalry and motorised detachments have entered Lithuania, and have been interned.--- Reuter..

QUEEN ORGANISES WORKING PARTY
