SIEGFRIED LINE SUFFERS IN

HEAVY SHELLFIRE

Results of the shelling of the Siegfried Line, shown by photographs before and after the bombardment, are most satisfactory.

French aircraft have been actively bombing the German positions and com- munications behind.

Photos taken from the air of the Siegfried Line before and after the French bombardment show that many of the forts had been hurriedly constructed from: inferior concrete and have been badly affected by the shelling and bombing. Reuter.
