JAPANESE LEAVING BORDER.
TROOPS BEING RE-EMBARKED AT NAMTAU
WITHDRAWALS OF JAPANESE troops are being carried out at Namtau, according to latest mes- sages from the border to-day.
A "puppet" administration has been set up in Nam- tau and is headed by a pro-Japanese native, Chan La-ng.
Japanese garrisons along the border from Namtau
to Shataukok have been considerably reduced.
Yesterday, according to trustworthy
sources, seven Japan transports were YUGOSLAV
observed in Taishan Bay. Japanese motor-boats, of which there are a large number in the bay, were con- veying Japanese troops from Namtau to transports.
This morning at about 9 a.m. Japanese troops continued em- barking when a fresh transport arrived.
The destination of the troops was not ascertainable.
GARRISONS REDUCED The Japanese garrisons in the vil- lages along the border between Nam- tau, Shumchun and Shataukok have been considerably reduced.
Parties, formerly numbering be tween 60 and 150 soldiers, now com- prise not more than 20 troops.

NO OFFICIAL KNOWLEDGE
Reports to the effect that Mr. Tajiri, the Japanese Consul-Gen- eral, has informed the Hong Kong Government that no menace to the Colony is intended by Japan, appear to be contradicted by official statements by the Hon. Mr. R. A: C. North and by Govern- ment House that the Japanese Consul-General has paid no call' upon
the Government in this connection.
The Colonial Secretary said he had no knowledge of the matter beyond the report of an interview given to the Press;

JAPANESE FLY PACIFIC
Tokyo, To-day.
The first Japanese plane to cross the Pacific created a record by arriv- ing at Nome at 7 a.m. to-day flying a distance of some 4,000 kilometres in 14 hrs. 39 mins. 81 secs.
The plane is the all-Japanese twin- matored transport machine
"The Wings Of Nippon," the flight being sponsored by the "Tokyo Nichi Nichi" and the "Osaka Mainichi."
With a crew of six Japanese lead- ing aviators, the machine left Sappro yesterday at 9:03 pm and the flight was scheduled to take 15 hrs. minutes to complete, Correspondent.
