JAPAN'S LEADERS AND ROME-BERLIN AXIS Pointed Articles In Nazi Publication THREE POWERS

"OF ORDER"

Berlin, To-day.

An "anonymous" writer in the magazine “Berlin- Rome-Tokyo," who signs himself with three stars and is said to be a prominent Reich per- sonage, under the heading "Who is the Aggres- sor?" says that public opinion in Britain is against Germany.

He says that, in particular, there are two camps in the Motherland of the Empire which are in- spiring and supporting "that peculiar policy."

One camp is that of the Conserva- "The step taken by the three tive Imperialists, who, for reasons nations is a natural conclusion and of self-preservation, need victory corresponded to the vital neces- for Britain's damaged prestige as sities of healthy nations. a ruling power in the world.

The other camp is that of the Liberal-Socialist Opposition, which, for ideoogical motives and, by no means the least, also for reasons of self-preservation, needs a victory over Fascism.

The article, goes on to say that one could not help believing that the leaders of the British state were fully conscious of the dubious ness of their policy with regard to the future of Europe and that their own nation wishes to create a situa- tion which some day will make the British Government and nation ap pear deprived of free determina- tion and will leave no way out but

war.

DANZIG QUESTION

The author denies the British Government the right to act in the Danzig question, either towards the German or any other government.

"For us and our friends, Danzig is de facto a German city and will become some day also a de jure Ger- man city. Neither speeches, articles nor diplomatic missions can change this."

THE POWER OF “ORDER”

DECISIVE IMPORTANCE

"Countries which are unaware of their duties in the service of un- ceasing progress stick to the sterile principle of the status quo, pay no heed to the true development of the world situation, and seek cheap consolation in temporary compromises which are most dan. gerous hotbeds of Communist ideas.

"The anti-Comintern front has, therefore, a decisive importance,

"I am firmly convinced that this three-powers-triangle is the best basis for world peace and the wel- fare of humanity, and that it pro- mises a healthy upward develop- ment to human civilisation.”

ARITA ARTICLE

Mr. Hachiro Arita, the Japanese Foreign Minister, writes:-

"The China conflict is due to. the hostile attitude of Chiang Kai- shek against Japan. Japan sees in this attitude treason to the com- mon cause of Asiatica and will crush that Chinese Government in order to convince it of its error! "Japan endeavours to secure the object of her holy war — namely, com the establishment of mon Japanese-Manchurian Chinese front of defence against the ac cursed work of destruction of the Comintern, and to achieve thereby the stabilisation of peace in East
