Mr. Frank Powell, magistrate, was so overcome when he had to sentence EL former brother- officer of his, that he left the bench for a time.
In the dock was George Robertson Lightbound, 63, an agent, of no fixed address, who was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment. He pleaded fraud guilty to obtaining £1,100 by from Mr. Arthur Alfred Jones, a Cut- ford printer, by whom he had been em- ployed.

Mr. E. Clayton, prosecuting, that within two years Mr. Jones ad- vanced a total of £1,100 to Lightbound, who told him that he was entitled to a share in an estate in Canada, and had difficulties with the administrators. He showed Mr. Jones fictitious letters and cables.
In September, 1938, Mr. Jones went to Canada to investigate matters on He found that his employee's behalf.
Lightbound had received £4,000 from his grandfather's estate and had mort- gaged his right to a further share.
