PALESTINE ARAB GROUPS RGREE TO WORK TOGETHER IN LONDON

London, To-day.

Agreement has been reached between the two sec- tions of the Palestinian Arab delegations to the Palestine Conference.

It is confirmed officially that the two sections are to

form a single delegation. ·

The Nashashibi Party will be represented by Raghe 'Bey, Nashashibi and Yacoub Farraj, Vice-Pre- sident of the Defence Party. Farraj is also head of the Greek Orthodox community in Palestine.

The Secretary for Colonies, Mr. Malcolm Macdonald; who has taken a prominent part in the negotiations, had an audience of the King yes- terday afternoon and informed His Majesty of the latest situation.

A picturesque scene was present- ed by the arrival of the Arab dele- gates at St. James Palace for the first Palestine discussion yester- day.

GOLDEN SCIMITAR

The Egyptian delegation, wear- ing European dress, was followed by the Yemen representatives in white turbans and green sashes and wearing the customary dag- gers, while the leader, Prince Al Hussein, wore the famous golden scimitar.

Next came Prince Feisul head- ing the Saudi Arabians in long em- broidered gold robes and the tra- ditional flowing headdress.

Raghe Bey and Nashishibi were indisposed and were unable to at- tend, hence the Defence Party was not represented at the first meet- ing..

SOLDIER'S

ESCAPADE WITH MOTOR BUS

Pte. Hugh Kirkpatrick, of Nan- king Barracks, was fined $20 by Mr. Q. A. A. Macfadyen this morn- ing at Kowloon for driving a mo- torbus without being the holder of a valid driving licence and for driv- ing the bus without the permission of the licensee.

Traffic Sub-Inspector Scrim stat- ed that at 10.30 a.m. on January 20, the driver left the bus at the terminus stop outside the Barracks and went into the ticket-inspector's hut.

A little later, he noticed the bus was moving towards the Sham shuipo Police Station. He shouted but the soldier did not stop and the driver sought help from the police station.

When a police officer arrived, the bus was already stopped near Yen Chow Street in Lai Chi Kok Road.

Asked by Mr. Macfadyen why he did it, Kirkpatrick stated he had no intention other than to see whe- ther he could drive it.

He was a licensed driver of all military vehicles.
