Wilson, skipper of the team, was too much of an individualist and was nearly always brought down by an opposition player with the ball in possession. A little more distribution was called for.
GOOD LEADERSHIP Searle made a good leader of the pack and received stout hearted support from Cullinan and Oakley while Innis and Hemsley were also seen to advantage in the loose mauls when they got their feet over the ball and shoved.
Potter, at full-back, gave a very.... good display for Tamar and kick- ed an excellent length ball to touch, while. Barlow and Buckrell, the wingers, were the pick of the three- quarter line, although both were somewhat neglected by their cen- tres.
GOOD PLACE KICKING Ashton played a hard game at stand-off-half and gave a magni- ficent exhibition of place kicking, converting both Tamar's tries from angles with plenty to spare. Clark was a hard-working scrum-half, but was guilty of infringment of the off-side rule and should have been penalised on several occasion.
