A reassuring statement was made in the House of Commons yesterday in the course of the debate on a Ministry of Supply by the Minister for Co- ordination of Defence, Sir Thomas Inskip. Sir Thomas said: "Whatever disappointment there may have been, we have gallant and efficient défence forces, which to-day, though incom- plete, are sufficient to give an answer to an ag- gressor which he may not expect but will cer- tainly rue."
Sir Thomas said the motto the country should follow and adopt was "Britain must be safe." (Cheers).
Dealing with aircraft expansion, Sir Thomas remarked: "Canada, forturately, is beyond the practical range of any bombers from a hos- tile, country.
