The inundated area is said to cover approximately 300 square miles, and in some places the water is said to be 14 feet deep.
Eighty foreign missionaries, representing various creeds, have organised an emergency committee to assist refugees.
In addition to arranging the housing and feeding of Chinese driven from their homes, they are also seeking to procure man power to assist in stemming the flow of water. Reuter.
