ANXIETY FOR NEW ZEALAND WOMAN JOURNALIST IN HSUCHOW BATTLE AREA
Hankow, To-day. Great anxiety prevails for the safety of Miss Iris Wilkinson, a New Zealand novelist and journ- alist, and the only foreign correspondent re- maining in Hsuchowfu.
Miss Wilkinson was last seen last week riding a donkey up a steep hill overlooking the battle front at Lienfanshan, east of Taierchwang and north of Pihsien.
Other foreign journalists had a narrow escape from death when the Garden Hotel, in which they were staying, was completely demolished dur- ing a Japanese air raid the day after they had left Hsuchowfu.
TRAINS RUNNING
Meanwhile foreign journalists ar- riving in Hankow on Monday night from Hsuchowfu, stated that trains Hsuchowfu were running between and Chengchow five days ago, the journey taking four days.
