ANGLO-EIRE DISCUSSIONS ENTER UPON DIFFICULT STAGE: GRAVE FACES
London, To-day. The Anglo-Eire negotiations are understood to
have reached the difficult stage. Mr. Neville Chamberlain and Mr. de Valera had a private talk in the former's room in the House of Commons yesterday afternoon, after which the plenary meeting of the two delegations be- gan at 5 p.m. and lasted an hour and a half. The meeting was adjourned until to-day.

The meeting broke up unexpected- ly early, and the Irish delegates looked grave after the meeting.
Irish political circles now believe the talks may continue until next week.--Reuter.
TRADE TALKS PROGRESS-
London, To-day. Anglo-Irish negotiations, were continued yesterday morning. Be- sides the Premier, Mr. Chamberlain, and Mr. Eaman de Valera, Eire Premier, there were also present Mr. Malcolm MacDonald, Secretary for the Dominions, the Minister for Agriculture and several British economic experts.
Further progress was made in preparing the proposed trade agree- ment.
After the meeting the Premier and Mr. MacDonald received Mr. de Valera at the House of Com- mons. Trans-Ocean.

Enquiries at the Queen Mary Hospital revealed that examin- ation had revealed a very bad fracture of the right leg and dislocation of the foot. This injury is regarded as serious. The injury to the back is slight.
