HE annual Triangular Tournament matches between the Navy, Army and Club, were the chief items of interest in the week-end cricket programme. On Wednesday and Thursday, the Navy played the Army and scored a very good win, while yesterday, the Club were most unfor tunate in not defeating the Army after Alec Pearce had scored a brilliant century. The Navy are showing excellent form at the moment and should give a very good account of themselves when they meet the Club.
The first match of the series was played on the Club ground between the Navy and the Army on Wednesday. The Navy had first lease of the wicket and were never comfortable against some fine bowling by Garthwaite. Comdr. Boucher was the only bats man to show any confidence, and if it had not been for his con- tribution of 47 the Navy would have been in a very sorry plight: indeed.
A left-handed bat of considerable experience, Boucher hit sir: fours and two sixes before he was bowled by Garthwaite, who re-j turned the excellent analysis of 22 overs, 5 maidens, 49 runs and 7 wickets. Garthwaite has not met with much success with the ball recently owing to a damaged ler and his return to form. shortly before his departure for Home, will be welcomed by all his well-wishers.
The Army did not start their

There were several notable absentees.. Captain Stapleton, of the Kumson Rifles, and Partab and Nerain Singh, also of the Kumaon Rifles, being very conspicuous by their absence. Iị. understand that the two Indian players were not selected for the Combined team because of their alleged selfishness, but this: is probably the most absurd statement I have heard in years for there is no denying the fact that these two players
are in a class of their own, and better than anything the other Army units, or Navy for that matter can produce.

The China team started very promisingly and on their play in the first 10 minutes of the game looked good for half-a-dozen goals, but lack of enterprise by. Leung Wing-chiu, at right-half, and by Lo Wai-koen, on the opposite flank, resulted in several glorious chances going abegging.
