AM hoping to have my boxing licence back within a week," said Jack Doyle in an inter- view regarding his boxing prospects. A friend brought me along to see Mr. Donmall, secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control, and I complained that the attitude of the Board was! keeping me out of the ring.

"I pointed out that the most satisfactory way in which I could meet these claims was by being allowed to box them off. If the Board would not agree to this, I said I would hang up my gloves and never box again.

London, March 6.
CONTRARY to persistent rumours in Austra- lian lawn tennis circles Jack Crawford and V. McGrath will again represent the Common- wealth in the Davis Cup contests this year.
Crawford, Quist and McGrath will comprise the team with C. E. Sproule as player-manager. Turnbull was not available for selection. The first two mentioned and Sproule will go to Wim- ¡bledon so that the former pair can defend their doubles title.
McGrath has intimated that if Australia is defeated in America he will have to return home at once. Mrs. Crawford will travel with the team.
The omission of that brilliant
18-year-old player. John Brom-1 wich, is the only feature of the
selection which has caused any controversy.
