Elizabeth (New Jersey), July 31 TACK DOYLE, the Irish heavyweight, scored another convincing victory — his third in succession in the United States by treating Bob Norton, a local negro, as a human punching bag and hammering him helpless in two rounds of a bout scheduled for ten rounds last night.
The big muscled negro, who had a reputation as a rugged fighter and tough customer, and at one time acted as sparring partner to Don McCorkindale, was unable to stand up to Doyle's rapid and heavy punching. *..
Norton's manager had predicted that his charge would put Doyle down for the full count within three rounds, but Doyle had other ideas. After severely punishing his man in the first round, and then knocking him through the ropes in the second. Doyle got Norton against the ropes and punched away mercilessly.
