Message From Scottish Studios
COMPLEX PROGRAMME
London. To-day.
The day of St. Andrew will be celebrated in B.B.C. Transmis- sion 4 with a programme relay. ed from the Scottish studios at
Edinburgh at 8.30pm. G.M.T.{ Its title will be "News out of Scotland."
As the day is regarded by many as a festival, of exiles from Scot- land rather than a purely local celebration, the purport of the programme might best be described as a message to Scots all over the world of what Scotland is doing in this year of 1934.
The new Cunarder, the Gaelic Mod, the unemployed, the grouse mears, drama music-all these will be described and reflected in | the programme which will show too, how Scotland is reacting to! the great cosmopolitan influences i thal are spreading all over the world. Scotland is proud of its traditions, yet radiantly progres- sive.
Despite its complex nature, the programme, devised by George Blake, will be presented simply. Two voices, contrasted in type and character to aim, will carry on a Conversation,
