Confident that Congress will finish up all major business by early June at the latest, President Roosevelt has set June 23 as the tentative data of departure for his cruise. Salling from Annapolis, Md., on the cruiser Indianapolis and accompanied by an escort of two destroyers, the President will make his first stop at St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, where he will make an inspection. The second stop will be at San Juan, Porto Rico, and the third at Canal Zone after the trip through the Panama Canal. After the 4,886-mile trip serosa. the Pacific, the President will spend two or three days ashore at Honolulu and probably make a motor tour of the island. He will be accompanied by his two youngest sons, Franklin, Jr., and John. Two or three mem- bers of the White House staf are also expected to make the trip.
