On the 29th November last year a fire broke out and destroy- ed the first class saloons, a part) of the promenade deck and ac- commodations of the Captain and officers of the Rotterdam Lloyd Liner "Indrapoera," whilst she was lying alongside the wharves at Rotterdam.

The reconstruction of the ship commenced soon after the fire, and at the same time the part of the ship below the water line was re- designed. The management of the Rotter- dam Lloyd took the opportunity to rebuild the destroyed part of the ship in the most up to date way and had the technical installations con-| structed to meet present day de- mands.
