Useful Clothing At Small Cost.

For those mothers who still say they "can't knit," my advice is
learn as quickly as possible. You ming such a lot not being able to knit your children's woollies. It is
a simple and to-day there are so many attractive designs about that one is able to aave a great deal of money by learning the soothing pastime. It is such fun to plan out a woolly outfit for the children when you travel bone next Spring. There is nothing nicer or better style than series of coloured sweaters with skirts and knickers to match; and for the boy little shorts and colour. [ed sweater and there you are!
All these things can be knitted so (easily at very small cost whereas it! costs a good many dollars to buy them in the shops. Handknitted woollen goods are always expensive and the cheap variety always look so obvious. 1⁄2 cup nuts
2 tablespoons cream
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
Cream fat and sugar. Add eggs, beat well, Pour water over dates, when cooled, add, with rest of in- grédients, to fat mixture. Chifl dough, break off bits and flatten down 8 inches apart on greased baking sheets. Bake 12 minutes in moderate oven.
