It is learned to-day that Furg Siu-wah, father of George Funz, done to death by hired gunmen here, has signed the petition to the Governor asking clemency for the man who has been rundemned for procuring the murder of his sun.
Cheng Kwok-yau, sentenced to hang, is still awaiting the out- come of an appeal to the Privy| Council, which has been under- taken on his behalf by Mr. R. C. Lim, one of the counsel who' assisted in his defence in the Hong Kong courts.

Through reliable sources it understood that Mr. Lim despatching briefs and final papers to London to-morrow, the originals to be carried by air mail.
Meanwhile, the petition for circulated clemency has been among leaders of the Chinese com- munity here. Mr. Fung is among those who have signed it.
Already, so it is said, 250 pro- minent persons, have signed the petition. Mr. Wong Kwong-tin, according to Chinese press reports, is the first signatory.
