That white face powder was pro- dused in ancient Greece 400 years before Christ by methods Identical with contemporary processes has been established by a chemical analysis of the "first white cos metics ever recorded. The face powder was found in a woman's grava at Corinth by Professor Shear of the Department of Art and Archaeology of Princeton Univer |sity.

The cosmetics were found to be cubes of carbonate of lead which had been manufactured by the Greeks through basic methods similar to those used to-day in the production of white lead, a paint pigment.
