The third team of South African Rugby footballers to tour the Bri- tish Isles and the first since 1912 have every reason to be satisfied with the results of the tour.
Mr. Pienaar, who captained the Springboks in New Zealand in 1921 and who managed the recent tour, said at the commencement of the long and arduous list of fix- tures that the team was not out to break records but to play the game] in the tradition set by the two previous South African
aldes, which met with sweeping auċċesses during their British tours, and they have right worthily lived up to that very high tradition of sportman- ship.
Considering that the Springboks were used to dry, fast grounds,; their play under the conditions Ex- perienced during the tour, especial- ly at Murray Field where they won in driving rain, was extraordinari- ly well-judged.

One unfortunate incident occur. red late in the first half, W. Stoker receiving a nasty bit on the calf of his right leg from which 'blood kept flowing out suggesting a severed vein. He was taken to the Kowloon Hospital immediately and we are glad to say that he is pro- gressing very satisfactorily at the moment,
Mixed Hockey.
The University mixed eleven met the St. Andrew's Club in a friendly match on the Diocesan Girls' School ground yesterday in a goalless draw.
The Varsity was hard-pressod during the second half, when the Club attacked vigorously, but were able to hold the fort. The game was interesting though at times естарру.
