London, Sept. 30. Since the beginning of 1930, according to The Motor Ship, motor vessels to the value of £12,000,000 have been built in British yards for foreign owners, and since, as a result of our departure from the gold standard, British-built tonnaga will now be cheaper in the cur- rencies of countries maintaining the gold standard than it was be- fore, there is reasonable hope of foreign contracts being placed in this country.
