The speaker traced the childhood of Mozart, who was a veritable in- faut prodigy. He was on tour at six years of age, and had sonatas for harpsichord and violin publish- ed one year later. A brilliant career followed, his famous opera, The Marriage of. Figaro, being produced in 1786. Ile died in poverty at the early age of 35, hay- ing composed over 000 works.
A representative Mozart pro- gramme was afterwards given by Joral artistes.

ANTI-DEPRESSION COLOURS.
Vivid Costumes Worn In New York.
New York, April 5. Trying to forget the Winter's dark days of bread lines and bud business the women in to-day's Fifth Avenue Easter parade wore "anti-depression colours," vivid gerantum reds, emerald greens. and blue jades.
As always, Easter brought to New York its biggest out-door fashion show of the year. But the short-skirted flappers who used to bustle down' the Avenue to-day were strolling with what they would regard as a certain dignity -the result of longer skirts and the possession of a waist line.
Fashion is no longer standardis- ed. The New York woman appar- ently no longer tries to mimic her best friend in the style of her costume but rather choose some- thing that is becoming to her own particular type.
While the spectators who crowd- ed the central part of the town watched the new trend in fashion the main streets of the Lower East Side, the Bronx and Harlem all had dress parades of their own this Easter Sunday.

So grent was the number of church-goers who sought to attend the Easter services in lily-filled St. Thomas' and St. Patrick's that the doors were closed and thousands were turned away before thu church bella had ceased pealing.
Very sheer woollens seemed to ba the favourite material for women's. Easter costumes. Mort collarlers and they war? worn with a silk scarf. Shoes for the most part were of simple de- sign. Saflor hats scem to lead the fashion-not with stiff, straight brims but with a curved brim and a small crown and worn well back on the forehead. This year glover inclined to be somewhat more in- tricate as to detail and the stock- Inga showed a tendency to blend with the costumes.
