The Newfoundland schooner Catherine B. was drifting help- lessly in a waterlogged condition in the Atlantic in a hurricane and snowstorm on December 1, when the Hofplein went to her assist- ance. A boat was sent away from the Hofplein in charge of Mr. Tak, with a crew consisting Tecumseh, British str., 4,247 tons, of Bartels, Bruurmyn. Ooster- Capt. A. Chalmers, from Sin-veld, and Pieters. In spite of the severe weather the boat reached gapore, Laichikak Anchorage.
