TROUSERS FOR TENNIS.
An Example From Queen's Club.
Trousers and shorts for sports- women, it would seem, will shortly be a "commonplace" and skirts a
rarity, says the London Daily Tele- graph. At Queen's Club, in the first round of the Squash Rackets Championship, there were competi tors wearing trousers, plus fours, and shorts.
Mrs. Wolfe, who won her match Inguinet Misa Cano, received only admiring comments on her well- pressed white flannel trousers. She ahowed me how they fastened at the
walat with a leather belt, and a plain silk shirt blouse worn tucked in. A fine green and white sweater and a pair of green and white Canvas shoes completed a most workmanlike outfit.
Mrs. Wolfe gets all her practice on the new squash court of the

Place, where she plays in grey flannel trousers, and where grey flannel shorts are the rule amongst players rather than the exception..
The championship regulation for white clothes made it necessary for Mrs. Wolfe to get white trousers, which she confessed were bought during the week-end, ready-made. at Windsor. Mrs. Wolfe takes a boy's size.
Squash is, of course, a much more heating and exhausting game than tennis, but as the championship is being played in mid-winter some interesting forecasts of 1931 tennle fashions were to be seen.
Mrs. Daniell, who had a good match against one of the redoubt) able Miss Caves, was wearing a tennis dress of white alik with the bodice made like a man's shirt, complete with Eton collar.
A delightful frock of flat crepe, knitted suit of the smartest version and light tweed coat will appeal to "every young woman" in this modern age, while the accessories are appropriate for all Spring wear.

LOOK AFTER YOUR HANDS.
Beauty The New Way.
There are six distinct types of hands, and many others of mixed types.
The Ideal hand is the artistic or psychic type; long and slender, with smooth fingers, the first phalanges Jong and tapering. The balls should be pink in colour and inclin ed to be almond shaped.
As there are six distinct types, it followa naturally that we cannot all possess this ideal hand, but what- ever our type it can, in most in- stances, be improved upon and kept fresh and young with care and proper treatment.
Like the neck, the hand is an index of age, and exercises which will improve the hands can be car- rled out at any odd moment.
Stretched Fingers,
With the fingers straight, bend the hand forward until the back of the hand is curved as much as pos sible, then close the hand and bend the knuckles backwards. Do the same exercise with the fingers straight, letting the wrist remain stiff.
Interlock the fingers of each hand and close and open the hands as far as they will go.
Close the thumbs and littlo Ang- ers, allowing the other fingers to remain open and straight.
Open and close the hands, with the muscles of the forearms tense.
Let the arms and hands hang down loosely, then shake the hands from the wrists as if freeing them from some sticky substance.
