Twenty Arab seamen and two white men were arrested at South Shields in a police baton charge after an attack by Arabs on white seainen, who were entering the Board of Trade office to "sign on" for a sea voyage. Loaded sticks, knives and bricks were used by the Arabs, and four policemen were stabbed and taken to hospital for treatment. Two of them were de talnod.
