On the first rink Erawn was drawn against Basa, and led by 10-1 at the seventh head and 12-5 at the tenth head. Basa scor- ed on the next four heads and drew level. Thereafter Brawn had a trio of 2's and Basa a 3 and a single, the game being a draw-16 all.

The wind up of an eventful season produced some excellent performances all over the country. Perhaps the best feat was wit- nessed at Lord's, where Gregory, the Surrey all-rounder, scored 171 and took 10 wickets for 102 runs. At Brighton, Kippax registered a century in each innings.
Parker ended the season in a characteristic manner, capturing 9 Derby wickets for 62 runs. Somerset and Hampshire were only able to complete one innings each in a tall scoring game. Essex ran up a big total against Warwick and won by a handsome margin.
