THE GHOST OF G.B.S.
Kuala Lumpur, June 2. Many members of the audience of Prince's Cinema, on Saturday evening heard and anw their first "talkie" film, when A short but interesting interview" with Mr. Bernard Show was screened. The redoubtable G.B.S. was transform ed into a most gental and courte ous oil gentleman who in cultur- ed and mellow tones had really a great deal to say about very little almost wrote "nothing.". Indeed the man quite eclipsed the superman, In a singularly charm Ing and disarming fashion, though at one time the grimness that lies behind that geniality was betrayed during a repeti tion of the celebrated G.B.S. imitation of Mussolini. Had the latter been present in all his crowning glory, however, we are afraid he would have been "not amused." But we were.
There was also shown a frag ment of another sound film, the "Flying Fool,"
which is to be screened, in full this week. This will undoubtedly be worth seeing if it only serves to convince one how fortunate we are to Live
