$1,500 STOLEN FROM STEAMER

Two more daring inland waters piracles are reported, the Lacu Kung Mei S.N. Co.'s 8.8. Dah-cht and the Yun-yuan, belonging to the Tatung S.N. Co., being held up. Following

In order to en- force their order, the pirates fir- ed a number of shots across the ship's bows. Seeing there was

nothing else to do but obey, the master of the Yun-yuan brought his boat to a halt. Clambering aboard, a dozen pirates, fully armed, conducted a systematic search of the passengers and the Having gathered together

HONG KONG TIDE

The tide-table given below bar been obtained by all of the Tide-pre- dicting Machine, which includes 40 components for the better prediction of tides, from the result of the analysis of the tidal observations, taken at the Kowloon tidal observa- tory under the direction of Dr. Daberck during the years 1887, 1588 and 1889.

The times and heights are given for Kowloon; but they may be used for the Victoria Naval Yard and Aberdeen, the differences being very small.

The times of high and low-water must not be considered to coincide

with the times of sinck-water and change of current, the two phenomena being quite distinct.
