For many of us who did attend. the recital was almost ruined by the appalling accompaniments on the piano. One could hardly avoid the impression that the singer, who was obviously both a musician and an actress of great ability and experi- ence, considered that this footling type of accompaniment was for a Hong Kong audience---good enough. Well, it wasn't!
