Thrilling Events at King's Park

Event 12-Egg and Spoon Race. (Girls):
Keen interest was displayed both by parents and pupils at the Central British School's annual sports meet- ing which was held on the school Senior:-Peggy Everest. Middl ground at King's Park on Saturday-W. Raven. Junior: E. Rousseau, afternoon.
Event 15-Relay Race (Girls) Won by Chocolate House.
There was a large attendance, fncluding many old boys and girls, as well as interested friends of the school.
The sport was good and provided some thrilling events, specially in the relay race, in which Blue House came off victorious.
The feature of the afternoon's sport was the keen rivalry shown by the competing houses, Red, Blue and Chocolate, the last named, how. ever, proving the champions of the day.
Great Enthusiasm Great enthusiasm was shown by the younger ones, some of them completing the mile course as well as several other races.
Ian Stirling, senior profect of the school, carried off the Victor Ludorum Cup with 20 points, while Miss W. Raven won the Victrix Ludorum.
The Inter-Form Shield, presented by Mr. E. Ralphs was easily won by Form 2, with 40 points.
R. Skinn, a recent arrival at the school from Tlentsin, made a record by clearing 5 feet 2 inches in the high jump, a very creditable per formance.

Tea was provided during the meeting, which lasted until six o'clock, when the prizes and awards were presented by Mr. E. Ralphs, Director of Education, Hong Kong.
Prior to this, Mr. G. Franklin [Nightingale, the head master, thank-by V. Grunberg.
ed Mr. Ralphs for honouring the school with his presence and for presenting the Inter-Form Shield. He thanked Mr. T. R. Rowell for his perfect organisation of the sports. and pointed out that Mr. Rowell always worked very hard for the girls' and boys' sport.
Cup Donors Thanked Continuing, Mr. Nightingale said that he would tender his thanks to Miss Dyer, for training the girls, also Mr. R. M. Dyer for his help in sending decorations for the grounds. He thanked Colonel T. A. Robertson for his "kind gift of three silver cups, and
the Talkoo Recreation Club for their gift of a challenge cup.
In conclusion, Mr. Nightingale said he would like to thank all the judges, the starter, and the mar shals who had worked so hard, and the Club de Recrelo for the kind loan of chairs and tables.
Mr. Nightingale also tendered thanks to all the parents who had so kindly supported them that after noon. (Applause).
In rising to thank Mr. Night- ingale for his kind words, Mr. Ralphs said that for a change he would not congratulate the winners but the parents instead, for such a sturdy set of youngsters. The helpers, and the donora of prizes were also cordially thanked. (Applause).
