HOCKEY

Navy Beat. Club In Shameen

(From Our Own Correspondent.] Canton, Yesterday.

*

In a very fast game yesterday afternoon the Navy (H.M.S. “Moth" and H.M.9. "Tarantula") beat a Club side by one goal to nll.

There was nothing much in the game, both aldea having their fair share of the attacking, with the Club slightly in the ascendant. The Club forwards, however, fail- ed in front of the goal, the Navy on the other hand being danger- thoroughly ous more than once, deserving their goal, which was acored in the second half by It. Johnston. Play on the whole was patchy but very keen, and occa- sionally some very good hockey

was seen.

Teams:-

፡፡

Navy:--Aufl. Dewey; L.8. Sellars, L. Tel. Davis; P.O. Clarke, LL. Birch, A.B. Cunninghame; AB. Sawyer, Lt. Johnston, Lt. Com. Weir (Captain), Lt. Dawson, and Surg. Lt. Sloane.

Shanieen Sporte Club: G. Duncan; Kavaranah, M. A. Annett; T. C. Marshall; F. E. W. Lammert (Cap- tain). G. S. Moss L B. Wood, E. R. HT, R. T. 0. Lammert, A. A. L. Tuson, and E. H. Shekury.

The following will represent the Hockey Club 2nd XI, in a friend- ly game against the Somersets Light Infantry to-day at 4.45 p.m. sharp on King's Park ground:- A. Borrowman, L. A. R. Duncan, L. F. Nicholson (Capt.), J. E Henry, R. W. Skippy A. Botelho, Major Kerrich, K. Batger, D. MacDougall, E. C., Fincher and T. J. Price. Referee: Rev. N. Evane..
