An Accident
The Somersets were soon on the aggressive and the Recreio defence had a very busy time playing well in defending the citadel from the unstaught of the combined forward line.
It could not last for long, how ever, and a well-timed shot from Palmer left Lawrence helpless.
A alight accident at this stage of the game occurred when Knapp oc- cidently kicked Brown, resulting in the latter being off the field for the rest of the game. This handicapped ! the Recreio, who were playing-8′′ pretty good-game in defiance-of-the- Someracts repeated attacks, which Lawrence in particular dealt with in grent style saving what seemed like certain goals time and again."

The Somersets continued to press and numerous shots were put right into the goalie's arms.
