YACHT CLUB BEATEN
Deciding Matches To Be Played
'Three fixtures in the Lawn Bowls League were decided on Satur- day, bringing the season's programme to a close, with the exception, of course, of the deciding matches, as two teams in Division I and three teams in Division Il are bracketed for top place.
The two games in Division 1, in which the Kowloon C.C. soundly trounced the Taikoo R.C., and the Club de Recreio defeated the Police R.C, had no bearing on the championship.
A
By accounting for the Yacht Club in Division II, the Taikoo RC have placed themselves on level terms with the Kowloon B.G.C. and the Civil Service C.C. A triangular knock-out competition, in which one team will draw a bye, will have to be played to decide the
winners.
Division I
K.C.C. v. TAIKOO R.C
On their own ground, the Kowloon C.C. defeated the Taikoo R.C. by 43 shots
Silkstone, scoring six points, in the first five heads, started in great style against Ferguson. The visiting skip retaliated with a three and a two but immediately after conceded a four. In the latter half of the game, Ferguson only scored on one head, the 16th, when he got a 5, while Silkstone piled on another 17 points.
In the first eleven heads on the second rink, the visitors, skipped by Wetherspoon, notched a single at, the 5th end, and gave away no less than 22 shots. Gibson's quartette ran out win- ners by 30 points (37-7), the former's total including two fires in the last two beads.
The last rink saw a close tussle. Al though Lammert, for the home team led by five shots after the 3rd head, Drum- mond soon caught up and eventually won one point. Kowloon C.C.
