It May Happen
The indefatigable Mr. Horton has, for the past eighteen months, been immersed in his theatrical Troupe as well as flicks, with nary a vacation during this time. Now, he rather hankers for a bit of a rest, and perhaps will ́manage six or seven weeks upon completing "The Aviator."
Seems Eddie has a grand place in Lake George, New York. His house faces the lake. The property was purchased by his grandmother for his mother sixty years ago. When in New York years ago mak ing a flick with Harold Lloyd Ed- die recalled the property and made arrangements with an architectural firm to build the house. So with a

Hollywood.-Eddie Buzzell, the well-known Broadway pint-sized comedian, must learn to ride horse- back for his forthcoming picture, "Little Johnny Jones.” Director Mervyn Leroy suggested he go to Griffith Park and sample the horses there. Dressed in swank attire, but with quaking knees, Eddie showed up as per appointment. He dug in-i to his pocket and slipped the horse six lumps of sugar.
"All right, let's go," the riding master said.
Eddie started to mount the horse he had bribed with the sugar.
"That's not your horse," enlight ened the riding master. "The one next to him."
Buzzell sidled close to the horse's ear and in a pleading voice mur- mured: "Honest, I meant the sugar for you, nice horsey, honest I did!" Latest reports state the horse be- lieved him.
When Corinne Griffith was 80- journing in Paris she and her has- band, Walter Morosco returned to the hotel one morn around three. No sooner did they enter the door than the telephone jingled. Long distance from London, Phyllis's voice sang over the wire. Now, Corinne hadn't seen or heard from Phil since the night she gave her a shower prior to her departure for Manhattan and Billy Seaman. The first thing Phil said, just as though it had been yesterday, was:
"Corinne, darling, that was the lovelist shower you gave me!"
Verily, the same Phil-London to Paris or just plain Hollywood.
Phyllis Haver may be Mrs. Wil liam Beamen now, but she's the same old Phil that the colony knew.

It isn't surprising to hear picture satiated people enthuse over her performance in "Lummox." I chanced to be on the set 'one day when Director Brenen was giving Winifred the perfect bawling-out. | I kept mum about it, as it isn't square shootin' to give AWAY director's working methods while he's in the midst of a production.

At this penning Otto is general factotum at the Tavern Inn. His menial position, as compared with his former one, makes no never- mind to him. His philosophy is grand. "I've seen plenty and lived plenty," he smiles. "To so-and-so with what happens now." He has a quarter of a million dollar suit pending against the insurance com- pany with whom he was insured at the time of his frightful accident Until that is settled he drifts as he pleases.
Which brings us to Rence Adoree. As Otto narrated a running ac count of some of his experiences with foreign circuses, Renee's eyes

Perhaps Rudy's story is as start- ling as any that could be penned. He graduated from Yale two years ago and tried unsuccessfully to line up with a band. New Yorkers recently arrived in Hollywood vow it's amazing the way the fems storm the theatre. His fan mail is terrific. So's his weekly salary, which is said to average $20,000-this from hi night club, the theatre and the radio. That is the Brehon method of werking. His leading players loathe and despise him during a picture. They would cheerfully murder bim if they dared. And yet, when it is over, and they see them- selves on the screen they want to hug him. They'd give their shirt to ork for him in another picture. I've heard them say so.
