referce, Mr. Stoakes.

With four matches in the Senior Division at Hong Kong and one at Kowloon, all the senior Clubs with the exception of the 2nd K.O.S.B. Regt. are engaged. The Borderers with a fine victory over the Small Unit during the week have improved their position in the League.

-The matches at Hong Kong are very interesting and the meet- ing of Queen's and Navy at Kowloon should provide a great game. I don't like the Chatham-road ground and it seems a pity that the Kowloon F.C. ground should be empty when there is a senior match arranged for Chatham-road, as I know that the Kowloon Football officials are only too pleased to lend their ground on these occasions for the comfort of spectators and the benefit of good football.

The Kowloon F.C. ground should, with the permission of the Club, always be available for senior matches, the same as the senior club ground on the Hong Kong side is on Saturday's.

The Athletle should get the points on the Club ground, as al- though Kowloon are dour fighters, 'the absence of McKelvic, injured in the Army match, is a big loss. The Athletic are alse fielding re-

serves, but are more fortunate in possessing many more promising recruits. On last Saturday's form the Athletic should get full points.

As an Interport Trial the match, Civilians v. Arnty, on Tuesday last was disappointing and I don't think these sort of matches are of much use as a guide to form. In

any case a probable or a possible Interport side after careful selec tion would be best tried out against a strong Club side, as the latter would' strain their utmost to beat the proposed Colony's best; whereas in matches played by teams composed of many Clubs the result invariably is not worried about, so much as the individual player's success.

The first round has to be played on or before January 22, the second by February 5, the third by February 19, the semi-finals by March 6 and the final by March 31.
