Kowloon F.C. v. St. Joseph's College, K.F.C. ground—Mr. J.

Lawrence.

University v. Eastern, H.K.F.C. ground-Gr. J. Kinsella.

Owing to the Volunteer Sports, the Kowloon v. Recreio game was played on Wednesday last and re- sulted in a draw. Kowloon played their supporters by drawing a point away from the Recreio ground as the King's Park team is anticipating a big season.

*

There is, however, a big list of attractive matches, particularly on the Hong Kong side. At Soo- kumpoo, Chinese Athletic (senior champions) play away for the second week in succession. Should the R.A. turn out at full strength, the chances should be very even. The Athletic were lucky to get full points at Kowloon last Satur- day, as it was anybody's game right up to the last. The R.A. at full strength are a tough lot, but if so, as I hear, they will be short

owing to the Volunteer sports, and injuries, Athletic thus should get full points.

The Club v. Police game will be a duel between strong defences. Both sides have rare rearguards and, in a very hard game, I do not expect Carke or Logan to be

beaten often. *When the

Club

forwards steer the ball to the back of the net, the Club will take some beating and this may also be said with equal truth of the Police, but the Police forwards atrike me as being more likely to score than the Club; and I expect them to secure the paints on form, although Club v. Police records

are in the former's favour."

The other match in the senior division on the Hong Kong side is the meeting of South China and Royal Navy at Caroline Hill. The South China XI will play their first league game on their own ground and the Navy have al- ready played there: The home team will field the same XI which defeated the Club last week. Al- though on the light side; the team struck me as very promising, especially forward, and the large playing area of Caroline Hill should suit their style. The Navy will grow in strength. On Saturday their team will be selected from four ships only, H.M.S. "Cumber- land" supplying most. The team is steady all round with one or two outstanding players, and the Re- serves are ample. This match, despite the strong counter attrac tions at Sookumpoo and the Valley, will draw the crowd as hoth Clubs are practically "home" teams on the ground. There will be very little in the result as al- though Navy lost to the Queen's Regt. last week there was very little in it.

The division 1 match at Kow- loon, and the only one on Satur- day, is the meeting of the

Queen's Regt. and the Borderers. Queen's have started strong, and the winners of this match will be well up the league table at the finish of the season. Rumour has it that the Borderers have a cap- ture, but even with last year's team they are a big force. Any C. P. Lammert,, American Express increase in strength will make Co., Inc.; R. The division II programme is Last week's very interesting. matches showed Small Units, R.A.F., University Joseph's below last year's form. and St. Accordingly, victories for Navy (B), K.O.S.B., Queen's, R.A. and Kowloon in the second division are anticipated. This League is much more interesting this season than last,
