weekly share report of Messrs. Moxon and Taylor (broker) reads:—

Hong Kong, May 27. The firmer tone of the market re- ported in our recent Inaues con- tinued unabated during the pant weak with a steady demand general- ly.

Holders of the principal stocks, however, maintained a Arm attitude believing in higher prices to come, so there was no pressure to sell and the volume of business tran- sacted was not very large in con sequence.

At the close buyers are still more In evidence than sellers.

Shanghai market is more active with buyers prevailing.

The following are the principal' alterations since last week:-

Banka-Again came to business at $1,065, and more could be placed at this price.

Unions: Continued firm and sales took place at $280 ex Dividend, buyers are now offering $278, but) more would have to be paid to obtain shares.

Steamboats:-Came in for more freely demand and $223, is now offered without attracting sellers.
