CREW WALK OUT.
THE CHINA
KINSHAN" DOCKED ON HER.
RETURN:
CURIOUS STRIKE SEQUEL..
Deserted by all but a few of her. Chinese crew, the Steamboat Coke. 18.8. "Kinskan" "returned to. Kong Kòng yesterday afternoon and has now gone into dock for har annual overhaul.
All but two firemen, three ste- wards and two cooks "walked off" after the boat's arrival: in Canton on Wednesday afternoon. When the "Kinshan" was due to leave her whar! at 9 a.in. yesterday, Captain B. Thompson applied for help to Commander J. U. P. Fitzgerald, R.N., Senior Naval Officer, West.
River, On H.M.S. "Tarantula," which was then lying of Shameen. with H.M.S. "Moorhen" and "Moth."
Those Who Helped..
The following responded and the ship leftConton about 40: minutes late, gaiting down to Hong Kong in normal time.
Comdr. J. D: P Fitzgerald (S.N.O... West River). A. B. Hollyhock, Stoker Maynard
H.M.S. "Tarantula.”
Commander Eng.
Littledale (Fleet duties) and a lieutenant from H.M.S.. "Hermes,"
A. B. Cartwright, Stoker Wil Hams, Stoker Addicott-H.M.S. "Moorhen."
A. B. Lester, Stoker Nower,. Stoker Gibbs-H.M.S. "Moth.".

Social Room Wanted, The "boya" of the vessel had previously applied to the company' for the assignment to them of one. of the ship's rooms. cial quarters and the request has not been complied with. Rumours of a strike have been current and the only conclusion is that the native crew decided to leave the ship stranded in Canton in order to get what they wanted.
Their object has, however, been [defeated.
A. B. Collins of the "Tarantula" cast off the shore wires, and, with the only alternative, swam back to this ship while the "Kinshan" moved off down-stream, to the amazement of the strikers on shore,
No Further Development. Commander "Fitzgerald took the wheel in turn with Mr Stewart, the chief officer, while Eng. Comdr. Littledale and the "Hermes" officer had charge of the engine-room and l'atokehold
