TRIAL TRIP OF THE "YUET ON.”

TO TAKE UP CANTON RUN.

The trial trip of the s.a. "Yuet On" was carried out on Saturday afternoon, from the Po Tak wharf. The "Yuet On" made 134 knots over the measured, three miles. She can accommodate about 800 passengers, of which 60 are salcon- und, 12 first class (Europeans), 80 Chinese first class passengers, and the balance for Chinese third Class passengers,

The "Yuet On" was built for the Kongmoon-Hong Kong run, but will for the present go on the Can- ton-Hong Kong run. She will make her maiden trip to Canton de-morrow morning.

3,700 PARCELS FROM HONG KONG

The first Christmas mail for the United Kingdom was closed on Friday evening at the G.PO, and was despatched on Saturday morning by the P. and O. steamer "Mantua."
