It is reported from. Pert Said that the steamer "Resandra" has water in the engine room still three feet above the plates. Pumping continues.

As far as can be seen the boil. ers, and enginos are intact.

The decks are bursting up owing to the expansion of the soya beans.

The vessel is not yet, afloat and is discharging the soya leons as quickly as possible.-Router..

Pori Said, Oct. 19. The Italian steamer, "Rosan- dra" from the Far East, is off the port with No. 4 and No. 5 holds, and the engine room and bunkers afire. All means are being taken to extinguish the fire and there is a possibility of success. No. 3 and No. 6 holds are being flooded Efter discharging their cargo on deck. The cargo is chiefly copra, soya beans, cotton, pepper, tea, general goods and oils.

The "Rosandra" is an Italian vessel of 4,798 tons and à fre- quent visitor to. Hong Kong. She was last here on September 11, when she arrived from Vladivos tok, Dairen and Shanghal in the curly morning, with 190 tons for locul discharge and 6.076 freight for ports beyond.
