A new cable ship, "The Cable" has been completed for the Eastern Extension Australasia and China Telegraph Company.
It will replace The Recorder" at Singapore, after forty years' service. A length of 150 miles, of cable can be coiled on the new vessel, which is both oil-burning and coal-burning.
