MOTOR RELIABILITY TRIALS.

FIRST HALF HELD ON SATURDAY.

The first half of the reliability trials for the Harley Davidson Cup was held on Saturday afternoon.

Mr. J. Smith, chairman of the motor cycle section of the Hongkong Automobile Association, organised the affair, which tack-place in the "New Territories.

Mr. George Saunders kindly gave his services as time-keeper at the start and finish,

There were 15 entrants, of whom 13 finished the prescribed test. Mr. Terry had the misfortune to meet with an accident, while Mr. Gascon took the wrong road. The starts were made from the Kowloon Fire Station. The first check was an open one, eight and a half miles from the start. Between this point and Castle Peak two secret checks were made and another secret check an the journey home. Competitors had to keep a speed of 20 miles an hour and were due back at the starting point by 6.45 p.m.
