NOTICE TO SHIPPERS AND PASSENGERS.
Members of the Royal GeograAug. phical Society listened to an in-.. teresting account of the journey of the late Brigadier General George Ang. Pereira from Peking to Lhasa, a distance of 6,360 miles, of which over 3,500 was accomplished on foot.
For over twenty years he had travelled in China, making many official reports, but except from occasional letters to news- papers the general public knew nothing of his work and travels. The story of his journey from Tangar to Lhasa, as related by his brother, Major-General Sir Cecil Pereira, was listened to with wrapt attention by many who are await ing with interest the early publica- tion, from diaries and letters, of a fuller account of this wonderful journey.
