Modesty was the keynote of the voting of lady competitors who wrote their Christian names in full. Some whose names were given in our list, entirely ommitted them from the coupons. There was one who placed her own name last but her sisters who also voted, invari ably put her name in the first three. No general description will fit the main trend of the choice of men voters. Some had very decided opinions while others divided their
allegiance among the majority of names given in the list. One, who returned a coupon with consider able merit and came very close to winning, tried the experiment of spreading the whole twenty among all the coupons he attempted.
Last week's poll was one of the most open in voting. There was no hot favourite which topped the majority of coupons sent in, as in some of the previous competitions.
