He condemned it as an exceedingly rash and indiscreet interference which nobody desired. (Cheers). He was perfectly certain that it had not helped anybody and had been a great misfortune which had added most seriously to the obvious difficulties. Nevertheless, conversations had not been broken off and he hoped they would be resumed hat it would be much easier if the miners were left to conduct negotiations without interference from bodies kimorant of the facts.

EVERY HOUR PRECIOUS.

After the burglary, it will be remem bered the defendant went to the Rod- „gers" garden. No. 212, Prayz East. "and there attempted to break open a cash box. Their anendon attracted by the noise made by the defendant, the Rodger brothers gave chase and caught | the defendant.

The Magistrate convicted the de-

Mr. Thomas asked Mr. Lloyd George to believe that every bour was precious. He asked him however much he deplored the fendam and passed sentence of six railwaymen's decision and whoever was responsible for it, not, months' hard labour. to allow the decision to prevent the continuance of negotiations. On a further charge of returning He declared his anxiety to find a bridge despite opposition. From banishment, the defendant was from bis own side. He appreciated the Premier a concllatory statement given one year's imprisonment with and reiterated the appeal in the railwaymen's decision not to stop negotia hard labour, the terms to run con

The Magistrate complimented the post-Rodger brothers on their prompt action

There is reason to believe that the railwaymen's decision was i carried by a majority in face of Mr. Thomas's efforts to secure the ponement of the strike.
